Some Things To Be Thankful For

We make more than just t-shirts...

Well ladies and gentlemen its that time of year once again. The leaves are turning, the campuses have emptied out and all across Canada people are  with their families to giving thanks. Here at the TYA family we’ve got a lot of reasons to be thankful. But easily the best news is that:

THE FALL 2011 LINE IS OFFICIAL RELEASED

As we speak the rest of the TYA crew is hard at work putting together the finishing touches on our newest designs. In case you’ve forgotten here’s what they look like:

Keep an eye out for one of us or send an order to thousandyearsltd@gmail.com if you want one of the designs.

Now I can’t speak for the rest of the TYA fam but to me, at least, this weekend means more than turkey and t-shirts. There’s a lot to be thankful and so I give to you….

MARK’S TOP 5 THINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR THIS THANKSGIVING

NUMBER 5: NOT HAVING INTERNET

After Kevin,Shaq and I moved in we didn’t have internet for a couple weeks. At first none of us were very happy about it but after a little bit we began to accept our fate and realize that there’s more to life than facebook. For the important stuff we’d go to the library and the rest of the time we’d just entertain ourselves, hang out and enjoy having our own place.

NUMBER 4: HAVING INTERNET

But let’s be real here: I love the internet. Facebook is life. Getting it was like having the tingling sensation when your foot falls asleep finally going away. Its not like you’re in pain but it feels good once its over. Where else do you find this kinda thing:

NUMBER 3: ZIPPER FLIES

I don’t know if there’s a trend going on with pants and button flies but peeing is so much more enjoyable when you don’t have to fiddle with buttons before. When I find a nice pair of jeans with a good zipper fly I lock that shit down.

NUMBER 2: FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Being with family and good friends is what the holidays are all about, regardless of what the holiday is. I had the pleasure to spend thanksgiving with both:

The TYA Fam

Big Pimp Daddy

NUMBER ONE: SRIRACHA

Sweet. Spicy. Tangy. Sensual. These bold flavours amalgamating in your mouth in a perfect harmony of flavour and heat. It is sad how much of this I’ve been eating. At least once a day if not more. I’ve even used it as salad dressing. Cooking tip: try putting some in scrambled eggs before you cook it and after. Thank you, Sriracha.

So there you have it, a little something from our TYA family to yours. Happy Thanksgiving and Shona Tova if you’re into that kinda thing.

Love,

Mark and the rest of TYA

Music Mondays: FLOW 93.5 plays the same songs 10000 times every day!

Welcome to an early morning edition of Music Mondays, posted at 2:20 AM because I just couldn’t wait to show you what music I have been jamming to as of yet. But first thing’s first. I have a little rant about FLOW 93.5, and every other radio station in the GTA that constantly plays the SAME SONGS every DAMN day. I can understand that many of you enjoy those songs, and I actually am a radio-convert these days (having advanced from my ‘Music is not what it used to be’ hater stage). I really enjoy the sampled sounds of Drizzy Drake, or the addictive rasp of Lil Wayne, and I am in love with that Kelly Rowland song Motivation (good for her, finally moving out of Queen B’s shadow). But as much as I love their latest songs, these radio stations seem to have them on a shuffled list comprising of 10 songs that they just replay throughout the day OVER and OVER and OVER again.

If I hear Super Bass ONE MORE TIME...

Woman Wednesday: Leave Britney Alone!

As long as I can remember, I’ve known the name Britney Spears. “Baby One More Time…” was the first CD I ever bought (I bought Spice World and N’Sync at the same time. 1999 FTW.), and I’ve followed her career ever since.

A couple years ago, I came home with her compilation CD, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, and my dad laughed in my face when he saw it. “Britney Spears?! Mark my words, her career won’t last 5 years.”

Well friends, you’d think her track record would speak for itself now, as it did then, but I found myself having the almost identical conversation last night. Because, people… I HAVE BRITNEY TICKETS.

I Wanna Make Love In The Sub(way)

First off, I want to apologize for there being no blog post yesterday, everyone at TYA is really busy now that OUR NEW LINE HAS DROPPED. Check out Big Cartel for our stock and if you want to make pre-orders. As always, e-mail us at thousandyearsltd@gmail.com if you have any questions.

But enough about business, I want to talk about public transit. I am your typical poor student with no car, so I almost always have to take public transit if I want to go anywhere. I also don’t have an iPod, so commuting is BORING. I could probably get a book but I always forget to bring one. Anyway, the point is, and I’m sure anyone who has every commuted will agree, it’s not that fun to just sit around doing nothing for half an hour.

That is unless, you try to pick up girls on the subway.

Once you get the hat and suit, it's really just a waiting game

Music Monday

What’s good music fans?

If there’s one thing we at Thousand Years simply can’t get enough of, it’s a regular supply of the freshest music around. We like to kick back to some old school jams, and go ham to some new club bangers. Our music relaxes us, excites us, inspires us, and perfectly describe our moods.

SO

For our first Music Monday, I’ve got some nice chill tracks for you guys to go along with the weather we’ve been having. I’m not sure if any of you heard last night’s thunder storm, but I definitely did, and I’m definitely enjoying the calm, relaxing atmosphere that’s followed.

Without further ado, I present to all of you, the unreal tracks that I’ve been listening to-

“That’s My Bitch” – Kanye West & Jay-Z

Betches Love Baking

Mark here. Got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday so if this post doesn’t really make sense you can blame it on the heavy duty painmeds I’m on (For an extra $10 you can have one delivered with purchase of a tshirt!). Having some time on my hands I decided to try something I’ve never done before, baking. Check out what I made:

1000Years Peanut Butter Cookies

The only problem is I can’t eat them because of the teeth, so if you want one come holla. And speaking of cookies here’s another installment in our Octo series:

Cookies and OctoCream

New T-Shirts should be out in the next couple days so get excited. And dwai I’ll post some post-wisdom teeth pics of myself once the swelling gets to a more comedic level.

Til then stay classy Toronto,

❤ TYA

STATE OF THE UNION

Here’s whats been happening with us:

David is currently somewhere in Japan beginning his ninja training. Expect him to return a deadly killing machine with a circle scarf made out of human skulls.

Abi just headed off to Israel to solve the Middle East conflict one serving of hummus at a time.

Nick is back in London, Ontario. When he’s not leaning against brickwalls he’ll be working to beat the world record for ejaculations in an hour (Fun Fact: Its 16)

This what the remaining half of TYA looked like in 9th grade. We're also all in the GTA for a while so if you're around, don't be a stranger and come say hey.

By the end of the week we’ll be dropping a new vid which may or may not include full frontal nudity. You’ll have to watch it to find out…
